The moments that become the stories
For most of human history, stories were shared face to face. Small, everyday moments retold around tables and fires, becoming the stories families carried forward.
Life moves faster now, and it’s easy to miss those moments. But what shapes family life hasn’t changed: laughter, closeness, the quiet rhythm of family life.
Photography is a way of holding onto that. Not perfection, but real connection, the fleeting interactions that might otherwise fade.
Photographs bring people back together, turning images into memories you can feel again.
Years from now, these are the ones that matter. The photos that remind you not just how life looked, but how it felt.

Family
Motherhood
Whether at home, in the woods, by the sea, or anywhere your family feels most alive, my approach is gentle, natural, and entirely relaxed. I focus on real connections, honest emotions, and the moments that often go unnoticed, the glances, the laughter, the tiny details that make your story uniquely yours.
Hi, I’m Heather!
I’ve always been drawn to photographs and the stories they carry, especially those rooted in family history and the everyday moments that often pass too quickly.
If you’d like to learn more about my story and what shapes the way I photograph families, you can read more below.
“We had the most wonderful experience of a newborn shoot in the friendly and capable hands of the lovely Heather. We chose her because we loved the natural look of her pictures and can undoubtedly say we made the right decision. Our little one arrived earlier than expected and also around Christmas but Heather was very amenable with rearranging the date to make sure it suited us. She was so relaxed and patient with us all on the day meaning we were genuinely able to enjoy the experience. She is very passionate about what she does and that shone through in the finished images, which were simply stunning. We’ll treasure them forever, thank you Heather!”
Where the story really begins
The photographs are only one part of the process.
It usually begins with a few quiet conversations. An email about a new baby, a message from parents noticing how quickly their children are growing, or simply a wish to hold onto this stage of life before it changes. These early exchanges matter more than people expect, offering a glimpse into the rhythm of your family before we even meet.
We talk about personalities and dynamics, who runs ahead, who stays close, the small habits that make your family feel like itself.
By the time the session arrives, I already have a sense of your story. It means our time together rarely feels like a formal photoshoot, but more like time spent alongside your family as life unfolds, children exploring, parents watching, natural moments appearing.
Within those moments, the photographs begin to take shape as honest pieces of a story that was already there.
Let’s tell your story
If you’re standing in a season of becoming, of loving deeply, of watching your family grow and change, I would love to hear from you. Whether that looks like the quiet anticipation of a new baby, the layered beauty of motherhood, or the everyday magic of family life, these are the moments that deserve to be held onto.
I photograph families where life is actually happening. In the softness of home, in familiar spaces, or in places that feel like freedom to you. Not polished or posed, but real, tender, and full of feeling. The way love moves between you. The moments you don’t realise you’ll miss until they’ve passed.
If this speaks to you, I’d love to listen. To hear your story, to understand what matters to you, and to create photographs that feel like your family, now, and for years to come.
